program starting up not start up list

Program starting up, not in start up list

I had installed the napster client (to see if it would run in vista seperate from WMP11) It didn't run. But it did add itself to the start up programs. However it doesn't show up in the list, so I had to uninstal it to get it to not start up.
Any ideas? If someone else could test this and let me know. To download the napster client without an account use this link: http://sms.napster.com/duet/registration/r_install.html

Not all programs are in the Startup folder that start at boot. There are three places possible, including the registry. Use the System Confiuration Utility (msconfig) to determine how a program is being started when you start the computer.

I dont think you understand my point. In vista a new feature that exists is the Windows Defender/Software Exploreer/Start Up Programs. I assumed the whole point of this tool is to track all the programs that start up. If this is not the case then it has no use what-so-ever.

I do. I am saying that the StartUp tab on the System Configuration Utility shows the registry key for each program that is started at startup. Removing the registry key for your program should work.

Isn't the fact that it didn't show up in the start up list (which includes registry start ups) a problem with the new utility? I'm not posting because I need help getting it off, I'm, posting because this could be a bug. But I woudl like someone else to test it.

If you think so, use the bug reporting tools to report it. You should not wait for someone else to test it. If MS cannot replicate they will close the bug. That's their decision to make.
